This set of Panels has been described as elegant and stunning. I put a lot of passion into my work in the hope for it to communicate directly with the viewer. I tried to emulate the vibrant colours of Pearls. The design came from the traditional Islamic designs I saw in Alhambra Palace, with an added floral border. The techniques for processing were some laser cutting and extensive kiln forming to give them the lens effect. The glass is Crystal Clear Bullseye base and Dichroic Glass - art glass which has multi layers, it transmits one colour and reflects another, changes according to the light and angle of view- It is magic. The outside two panels were embellished with Pink / Blue . The middle panel has Orange / Green as well as reflections of purple and yellow in a subtle way. They work well in day light and back lighting in the evenings. The shadows they cast are so pleasant. The set has been exhibited once in London then in the Glass Museum, Ely Cathedral, Cambridgeshire. The panels are framed in 5 x 5 cm pine, beaded and stained in dark brown. Each panel has two eye hooks either side for hanging.

Nour El Huda Awad is a designer and maker of stained glass windows and panels. She studied Fine Art Painting in Cheltenham, which informed her later training in the demanding disciplines of Architectural Stained Glass. She gained A Masters Degree in 2004. Huda is a competent artist with a wide range of skills in traditional and contemporary glass. Her joy of working in the medium is evident in her work which has been described as elegant and exquisite. Fragile jewel-like forms are cut by hand or with water jet, mixing traditional craft with the precision of technology. She continues to explore the possibilities and capabilities of kiln formed glass.
